Monkies on Skates
Posted on | August 1, 2005 |
Hello one and all. Today I thought that I post something from the children’s book that I am writing and illustrating. It is a book of poems and silly rhymes. If you feel the urge please tell me what you think. Well here it is for your pleasure or displeasure:
Monkies on Skates
It is a beautiful day
in the month of May,
the monkies want to play.
Their mamas say, “it’s okay.”
They lace up their skates
and fill their pockets with dates.
The little monkies skate straight
to a park for skates.
The joyous monkies swirl
and twirl
in the warm sun
and boy is it fun.
Someone brings a tape player.
And someone wears the hat of a sailor.
There is a monkey and her name is Taylor.
No time is gayer.
When the sun fades into the crack
between the hills and sky, their mams call them back
for their mid-afternoon snack
and nap. They’ll be back- that’s a fact.
