GI Blues Song Chapter 2

” I have never seen you in here before,” Daylene says.
” I was supposed to be on a blind date but the girl never showed up. My friend who set us up suggested this
place because of the good music and the private atmosphere,” he replies.
” Oh I am sorry to hear about that.”
“You know I think it worked out for the best because I am having a pretty good time.”
She drinks some beer and lights a cigarette, ” I have one more set to sing, do you want to go out from breakfast? I know this great place that has the best pancakes.”
” Yeah, I would love too.”
The band starts another song and Jason turns to her, ” You want to dance?” He stands and takes her hand.
He leads her to the floor where there is only a few other couples dancing. He puts his muscualr arms around her waist and the slowly move. She can fell his strong hands resting on her back. The feel of his touch makes her shiver and she moves closer to him. After the song, she pulls away, ” I have to get ready to sing again.”
“Okay I’ll see you soon.” He kisses her cheek and the red rushes to her cheeks.
There is more people in the club, so the band and her perorm more lively songs. She spies Jason smiling at her. “Only a few more songs,” she thinks to herself. She sings her last song at one am and meets Jason at his table.
“Well if you give me a few minutes I am going to change into something a lot less dressy.”
“I don’t think you should change. That is if you dont mind going out in your dress.”
” No, I dont mind at all.”
He stands up and they leave together. “I’ll drive.” He opens the passenger door of his tiny car and helps her in then closes the door behind her. She points in him the right direction to the diner where her god-mother works at. He starts the car and drives into the night that will change their lives forever.
