Catergory 7: The End of the World

 

Last week, I watched part 1 of the CBS movie Catergory 7: The End of the World. Tomorrow is part 2. This movie is something definately worth checking out.

What is this movie about? For those in a nutshell, global warming causes terrible storms all around Earth. Catergory6 twisters. These storm systems join with a catergory 5 hurricane over Washington DC and hell breaks loose. I really don’t understand the “science” but in the movie there are these heat columns and an upper level of atmosphere is fallling and when these meet you have a major storm.

Tom Skerrit plays a pilot who is known for flying in hurricanes. Randy Quaid and Shannen Dohetry play storm chasers that shoot rockets into the storms ( very Twister like). Gina Gershon plays the FEMA head. Swoozie Kurtz plays an evangelist, cashing in on people’s fears.

I love disaster movies. Last spring CBS showed a movied I think called Asteroid which was very good. Check this movie out, tape or TiVo it but this is worth seeing.
