Democracy Works! At Least in PA it Does

Well a few months ago I said that the state legislature approved a pay increse for themselves and the judicial branch of the government. Well good news- the backlash from this pay increase is causing the state congress to repeal their own raise.

Many voters threatened not to vote for those who voted for the pay increase. Some of these congress people are longtime senators and represenatives and they don’t want to lose their jobs. Of course who would want to be voted out? It is very prestigous to be in politics.

But at least they are listening to us- as they should. I mean we put these people in office they should listen to us and respect our opinions. I am okay with a raise for judges and prosecutors. We need to keep good, tough jusdes in the state and on the bench.

One quick side note about state paid people- Graham Spanier, the president of Penn State makes $492,000.00 a year. I think that is more than the President makes a year. Holy cow, that is a hell of a lot money.
