Is It Time to Leave

To leave Iraq that is. YES it is time. The coalition forces have been in Iraq for a couple of years now. The only good thing that had come from this was the usurping of Saddam Hussein.
I was never a full blown supporter of the war in Iraq. I always thought the mastermind behind 9/11 was Osama bin Laden. And last I knew he lives in Afganistan not Iraq. But maybe I just missed something. I was under the assumation George W. was only completing the mission his father failed to complete, ridding Iraq of Hussein.
Okay, so the coalition forces went in and now we are trying to spread freedom to the Iraqi people. I am all for that. I think everyone should be free. We had to fight for our freedom from England. No one came in from another country and decided to rid America of English rule. I am pretty sure the founding fathers decided to become free and sovereign on their own.
If Iraq wants to be free so bad why can’t they step up and start fighting for themselves? What credibility does the Iraqi forces have when then Americans are right behind them wiping their asses and holding their hands? To me this war in Iraq is turning into a war like Vietnam. We will never win. Many Americans will probably become MIA, POW, or die.
I know many people feel that the Americans should stay because Iraq is fragile right now and they might have a civil war. Don’t forget America had a civil war less then a hundred years from the time we became sovereign and we are okay now. Many countries have civil wars and sometimes the country splits or it stays as one.
Maybe America should leave the war to the Iraqis. Stay to only offer humanitarian relief, after all we did cause the distress in the country. We should not poke our noses in other countries problems. We should wait until they ask. It is time to let go of Iraq’s hands and let them walk on their own, they may stumble but they will get back up and keep trying. No government is perfect and so often it is a never-ending learning process.
