Building a Fence- Seperating Mexico from the US

Posted on | December 17, 2005 |

I think it is time to do something about our borders, especially from Mexico to the United States. Everyone in this country knows that illegal aliens from Mexico has been an on-going problem for years and it is time to take action. We are afraid of terrorists coming into this country and wreaking havoc but what are we doing about it?

Here is a thought to mull over- if an uneducated Mexican can cross into America with no problems then who is to say that an educated terrorist can not do the same? The terrorists are not stupid and I am pretty positive they watch American news, they know where the weak spot is. If we know, they know. After all the 9/11 bombers came in from CANADA.

So one idea, which many think is to extreme is to build a fence along the Mexican/American border. This is a good idea. Only if this fence comes with watchtowers with border patrol stationed so they can’t climb the fence. As I understand it, China built the Great Wall of China to keep the Mongolians out.

Now before, I get hate mail. I am all for people from any country coming to live in the US because this a pretty great country. But get the proper papers in place and enjoy life over here. The government should know who is coming into this country. They know who is a resident already. It is a way to protect ourselves from another attack like 9/11.

Case in point, an illegal alien from Mexico, Miguel Padilla, shot three men in an Altoona nightclub because they wouldn’t let him where is ball cap inside. He killed those men and now he is standing trial for capital murder which in this state means the death penalty. What makes this worse is that he was already in trouble once before. And he was not deported.

Perhaps, if the border was secure this would have never happened. There is nothing wrong with protecting your home. We put fences up in our yards to protect our kids, we should do the same with the borders.
