A Blog-Worthy Day
Well hello, I am writing about yesterday and it was a pretty good day. For my birthday ( which is today if anyone cares) I went to Knoebel’s Amusement park. Already a good day, right.
The day was sunny and warm but not the dreaded 3 H’s. On our way to the park on I-80 E towards Danville we saw a baby black bear cub. Okay he was dead and it was a little depressing. He was on his back and you could see his little claws. He must’ve been only 2 feet long. Anyway, why is this so special? I have never seen a bear that didn’t reside in your friendly zoo. And where I live in PA, the black bears are abundant and I have never seen one. None. Zip. Zilch, so seeing this one was something different. You know, because normally the roadkill of PA are deer, squirells, racoons and skunks.
So at the park we ride on the train and we saw 2 gobblers. The train spooked them; the conductor stopped so they could pass. They dodged into the thicket of trees. Never seen turkeys roaming around Knoebels. At dusk, when the sun was set enough that there was still light but in the woods it was almost dark, we rode the train again and this time we saw a doe munching away at corn. She must have been used to the train because she just stood there. That’s a new one as well, typically what I see are the regular small furry animals.
On our way to the car, I found a dollar! Hurray! I was too late to buy a Powerball ticket so I’m not a millionaire. When we finally pull into our driveway, there was another deer standing in our driveway. She had a bad leg but she bounded into the backyard, nonetheless.
Yesterday was a just a weird, in a good way, day.
Have a great day
