My Life 2/25/08

Hello all, well I ran my first opp for PPP today for none other than Weekly Shorts. I just thought it would be cheesy to run an opp just for this blog. What is great about Wordpress, is when I hopped online  had all these trackbacks, which meant I could go and read some. Many of them were positive and one wasn’t so positive. I know my grammar may not be perfect, nor or the stories, if I sat around and perfected every story they would never  get online.

For my story that  I sent to epublishing took 2 months before I thought it was okay enough to send out. That  is 2 months of at least an hour editing and reworking a day. Okay enough of that  I did ask for honesty. Actually some people seemed to like the stories for the most part. So that does give me home some kind of hope for things to come.  Some did offer some thoughts on storyline especially what  didn’t work for them. That is always good to know.

I am still going to move forward  with my plan of 50 Weekly Shorts stories and then I will edit all the stories I think are the best and start sending out query letters. I have got time and lots of it. I also know what people seemed to pick out of the 20 stories listed. This gives me a good focus on possbily my strengths and weaknesses (except for grammar of course).

If you think I need to go back to grade school and learn how to use punctuation or write a story let me know, maybe my daughter and I could go to school at the same time.  Enough of beating a dead horse.

So Claire, it seems as though I will be writing a mystery/suspense for your awesome short story contest.   Anyone looking for Firefly chapter 6 will be posted sometimee today or late tonight I should say!

    Nothing wrong with your grammar wait till you see how bad mine is!! I just type what my brain tells my and I forget all the rules the teachers told us at school (see I just know there was meant to me so “…’s” and ,,, and !!! some where in there!
    I love your stories! I print them out sometimes and take them to work and many of my co-works read them also and like your work.
    **whispers** Again I am the one with bad punctuation and grammar, can I blame it on being bilingual ?

    I was one that got your op, I hope I wasn’t insulting in what I had to say. I did enjoy your short story. I clicked on a couple of others, but I couldn’t get pages to load, sorry. It may have been a glitch with the server, but it was late last night and I didn’t want to mess around too long. I like the meme your doing with your shorts and I found myself trying to come up with story starters as I was making my bed this morning! I think it’s a great idea.
    I always enjoy your sites and will continue to come visit! :-D
