My Life 4/30/08

Published by J Scott under meaningful meanderings

What is up with the weather? I was enjoying the really nice late spring weather the last week and now it hovers in the 50’s. I watched the weather last night and the weather man said in 1928 the area recieved 22 inches of snow in the valley spots over three days. I can’t believe that. Oh well, lucky I am not growing anything other than some flowers which just started sprouting.

I wrote most of the new Weekly Shorts story at the courhouse. I would have finished it except, I kept getting side tracked with talking to the police and other witnesses. It only took maybe 5 years but I figured out who everyone was and why there were involved. I still don’t know a verdict but I will call later and find out. I really think this time was the final time. I just know it is.

Okay enough of the rambling! Bored you can always check out Breaker 1-9 Pink Panther Here, I updated it a couple of days ago. You can read it from the beginning.

Have a nice day!

Break Out

Published by J Scott under meaningful meanderings

I went out to check the mail a little bit ago and the boy bunnies have escaped! I don’t know how other than they beat the door so hard tat the latch came loose and now they are free. They may have broken out of the cage but they are still in the hard.  I didn’t notice until I saw one of the white bunnies in the front yard. I thought it was something else until I got closer to them.

Maybe if I got some carrots they might come to me or another option is grab a girl bunny and try luring them back into their cage with the promise of a little procreation. I don’t know about that though because I am not very comfortable handling the rabbits because of where you have to pick them at. I really thought they would come to me because they like me but I was wrong.

I’m going to try all day, I don’t know what will happen.

At the Diner

Published by J Scott under meaningful meanderings

I don’t know what it is with me but some how I always seem to be the one person who always recieves bad service at a restaurant. I’ve talked about the “wonderful” service at Tom’s Diner and the incredibly fast service at the Red Robin in Bucks County and here is another story of bad service.

I think the year was 98 or 99, I was in college and my friend was pregnant. We used to eat at the one diner all the time in Quakertown because she always craved something from the menu. Her cousins were in town and one night we went there to eat. There was maybe 8 young people including myself. The waitress comes around and just starts off being rude to everyone. I am telling the truth here, we were very behaved considering we all were young. She messed up the order and I told her nicely and she had a big old attitude. We didn’t stay long. One of the other people there wrote a note on the place mat mentioning the bad service. Being incredibly infuriated, I left a tip of $.10.

While I paid for the check at the register, she came up and threw and I mean threw the dime at me. I don’t think I ever went there again after, we wound up going to the other diner from then on. It was too bad I wasn’t 21 yet because I could have used a giant wine glass after that night.

That waitress could have really benefited from a waitress training video called the Perfect Server from Vat-19. I know people can have their bad days but I think this was beyond bad days. I think the people behind the counter at McDonald’s are typically nicer than she was. Too bad for her, because I always tip 20% and we had decent bill. Oh well maybe she would make more money if she watched a training video.

Have a delightful day!

Firefly Chapter 13

Published by J Scott under firefly

Sundays were free days, Carrie needed to talk to Ray. Ryder understood and didn’t follow them outside. The girls shivered under their light winter coat.
“Ray are you bi or a lesbian?” Carrie began.
“I guess bi but I like women more. I like sex with Bryce. I’d rather have sex with Ryder.”
“Why didn’t you tell me before?”
“I was scared that you wouldn’t let us explore. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. So you liked Michelle?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay.”
“What are you thinking?” Ray asked.
“I don’t know, I just kind of- I really don’t know.”
“Did you like it, Carrie?”
“I like being with Bryce but it was okay with Ryder.”
“Will you do it again?”
“You know I will,” Carrie replied, “we have to share our body, you know. Anyway you did it for me.”
The girls clasped hands and touched heads. They met Ryder at a walking path for their daily smoke. Carrie and Ryder lit up and watched the tinsel smoke hang in the frosty air.
“Everything okay?” Ryder asked.
“Yeah, not a problem,” Carrie said, “what about you?”
“Yeah,” she squeezed Ray’s hand.
***
Night after night, Ryder joined them in bed. It was a good time for Carrie but Ray felt a lot more. She loved Ryder.  One night Ray told Ryder that she loved her and Ryder said Ray and Carrie and she were soul mates. Ryder said she couldn’t imagine her life without them.
All the girls that did well on the program were given a day in town. Ryder, Ray and Carrie were apart of the good girls. It was the first time in six weeks that they were in the real world. The girls enjoyed their free time together. They sat in a diner and ordered pie and coffee.
“You know I could do this forever,” Ryder said in between mouthfuls of pie.
“Do what?” Ray asked.
“Be with you guys forever. You know Carrie is my best friend and I am in love with Ray. Bryce seems cool. I’m sure we can work it out something. We can all live together. We can go to your town and find a place. What do you think?”
Ray grabbed her hand and stroked it, “you know I’d love it. What do you think Carrie?”
“That’s great because EJ said he’ll live with us too. I wouldn’t mind. Are you sure you want to?”
“I don’t want to go home. My parent’s are assholes. I just love you guys so much, I don’t want to be apart from you.”
Ray soared at the idea of her true love living with her, for once in a life she truly knew what happiness was.

Encourage the Wildlife

Published by J Scott under meaningful meanderings

The one thing I love where I live now is the presence of wild life. Sure I have the regular critters like skunks, chipmunks, squirrels, and racoons but every once and awhile there are does that come through the yard. When the flowers start to bloom they will be around eating some of them. I know last year when I planted sunflowers in the back yard they ate them. One thing I could do is invest a Deer Feeder from H&R Business Mall. This way I might actually see the deer more often as opposed to when I take the trash out and they scamper away as soon I as I open the door.

Have a great day!

Why Publish Your Caught SPAM

Published by J Scott under interesting internet

I see this on a lot of blogs they have a little widget that says how much SPAM akismet was caught. I don’t understand why this is important. To me it is because it is doing a fine job catching SPAM. Trust me I get a lot unsual spam as well, spammers would leave comments with drugs for enhancement or adult movies.

I do check akismet often because sometimes regular people show up there and then I move them back. People who leave spam are getting smarter at least in my opinion. I have had 2 comments recently, one was a spam but the same person actually left a real comment, I let that one go because he said something useful to the post.

So if anyone cares akismet caught 2,226 spam since first installed which would be 4 months ago. Can you believe it? I can’t, I must be a popular person for spam comments.

Have a great day!

My Day in Court Short

Published by J Scott under meaningful meanderings

I was really expecting to be there all day long. Why not any other time I am there until late. Not to day, I guess he didn’t really want to talk to me much. Not that I am complaining. My testimony lasted only an hour! I know that might seem like a lot but the last time I had to be in there for almost 2.  I was very happy about that. He was grasping at snowflakes, rumor has it, he is looking at least 20 years behind bars unless they do “three strikes you’re out” then he is in there for life.

He defended himself and his new angle of the day was almost to put me on trial and trying to impeach my credibility. Really if my testimony was thrown out for some bizarre reason he is on the video tape, every member of the jury could see it as plan as day because he looked right at the camera.  The judge and ADA didn’t let him divulge into his little fantasies that I am criminal like him. I don’t think I will have to go tomorrow because as of yet I have no phone call.

Gut feeling tells me that they will wrap it up today, jury will deliberate and come back with a verdict, “guilty.” I know this because the evidence is not circumstantial and well the looks on their faces pretty much already had him convicted.  He asked if I wanted to go to court today. What kind of question was that I said it was my civic duty.  Only if you could’ve been there you would have been laughing your asses off.

I don’t know if someone will call when the verdict comes in, I want to know for sure if he is guilty. I hope someone does.

I hope this was the last time forever.

Have a nice night!

Some Random Internet Stuff

Published by J Scott under interesting internet

Hey  all, well I  always  heard some great   things  about the Firefox browser  and Internet  Explorer is just  stupid sometimes. I had  a hard time with  pics loading  up on entrecard.  I love Firefox, it is so easy  to use and well it is a lot of fun. What people say is true, everything works great on it. Another thing I did was download the  stumble upon tool bar. I am addicted to it. I stumbled a bunch  of stuff and found some really neat stuff. i clicked  the  “art” category and it comes up with some unusual things but the best site I have  found in the art section is jacksonpollock.org

If you are looking to waste some time and create art then this  is the  place for you. Every time you click the mouse it changes color. It is  a nifty little site. I like stumble upon  it could be very addictive. As you can see  I should be in bed  since I have to be at the  courthouse  at 8:30 am and I have to leave here at 7 am be up at 6:30 and I am too busy playing on the  web. The internet just   became a whole lot more fun.

Have  a great day!

A Day at the Park

Published by J Scott under wanderlust

Lucky for us, the weather held up into the evening with nothing but sunny skies. For whatver reason Knoebel’s wasn’t busy. There were people but it wasn’t jam packed with people. We got the handstamp because it was Buy One Get One Free. Really wasn’t worth it for all of us, yes for Sunshine because she can ride a lot of things and I rode with her on some of the big rides while the boyfriend ate and rode less rides.

It seemed like kind of a rip off because we thought the handstamp was good until the park closed. It was only good until 6 pm, I thought they would stop selling the handstamp at 6 but you can still ride all day.  Oh well, we know for next time.

Sunshine likes the spinning rides but not the cosmotron. The ride in the building that plays loud music and in the dark. She even told the ride operator “this is not a fun ride.” She can ride so much now because she is 43.5 inches tall and that gives her priveledges like riding the roller coasters. I am all for that but she is only 4 ( almost 4) and I don’t think she is ready for the roller coasters yet, maybe soon.

I am trying to get the boyfriend to take us to DelGrosso’s park for Mother’s day because it would be cheap just buy sunshine a handstamp, I get to ride free because I am mom and well he can pay for his rides that he rides.

Have a great day!

Afterthoughts on One Rainy Night

Published by J Scott under weekly shorts

Hello all, a few days ago I published the next edition of Weekly Shorts, One Rainy Night. The story is a little long reaching at 1526 words however, I think it is decent. It is supposed to be a mystery and I guess it is kind of a mystery but more a thriller mystery. That is the thing with genres, at least for me anyway, I always seem to cross-pollinate.

At my job interview, the publisher asked how I get my ideas. I have been asked that before. I really had to stop and think. I told him about Weekly Shorts, the rest well are formed from ether I guess. I really don’t know. I think there is some hidden being inside of me that pumps out the stories. There is one thing I can gaurantee is someone else wrote the exact same ideas for Weekly Shorts the story will be different, the beauty of writing.

What is coming next on the agenda?  A thriller, a mystery and a fantasy humor. Agh that is all? Jeez, I have to do some better advertising. If you made it this far then you might want to check out Weekly Shorts : help create a wonderful story, grab some free links and everyone wins! How sunny is that?

Think about it and can’t wait to read your ideas!
