literature is something we infer after the story is told

Two Brothers. One House. And a Graveyard

Posted on | May 6, 2008 |

A perfect family in the faded Polaroids, one father, one mother and a pair of brothers. Years come and go and the father died in his sleep and mother followed in his footsteps only months later. The death of their parents, left the family homestead to Paul and Robert.
Both wanted control of the house and who came and went. Neither liked the other’s girlfriend both women banished from the premises. Hormonal tension encroached the pleasant childhood memories.
Paul took his brother to the graveyard near the homestead the same day Old Man Carter was interred, for he had won.

I always seem to go over 100 words. It takes me more time to edit it down to 100 words than to actually write it.
