I Am an “A” for SEO

Posted on | July 13, 2008 |

While reading some blogs I came across someone who had a “C” grade for their blog and I wonder what mine would be. I went to Website Grader and punched this url. It generated a free report. I am happy to report that I scored 91% out of a 100 or an “A” if you care for letters. I suppose this is pretty good… my url’s biggest downfall was the missing meta tags and meta description

Hell I don’t even know what meta tags are. I would assume I could try the WP all in one SEO plug in to fix this problem. The only problem is I have almost 1200 posts and nine pages that I would have to go through and add all the stuff. Sure it might be worth it but I don’t think it would be worth it for everything. Perhaps if I went back and did for all my stories, poems, the Lion Lowdown and other good stuff that might be okay plus metas for all my pages since there are only nine. The pages are important, that is why they are pages.

I scored extra because I registered my domain for 2 years and Google likes that. So I ran back and renewed my other domain for another year to make it look good. From the website it shows dedication to the url. Since Healthy Moola has a lot of stuff like money and health, I do not want Google think I am a splog. With this new information, I will be purchasing my business domain for 2 years.

The next thing that was bad was my images on the main page. There are 20 and 14 do not have the alt title tag, this is an easy fix and I will probably do this later. Also it said too many images could slow the website down. I have 20 though I think my site still loads quickly because I don’t glittery type jpegs and gifs. The third thing was this site is not listed in dmoz and yahoo directory. That problem is sort of solved I submitted my url, I don’t know if I am accepted yet.

Overall I seem to be very search engine friendly, indexed high in Google and all sorts of other useful information. I can go back as many times as I want and run another report and see if I do better. Check it out for yourself. My biggest traffic comes from Google search, not stumble upon, entrecard or even blog explosion.
