When I Sit Down to Write

When I sit down to write
The world as the rest see it
Obliterates into my world
Where I make the rules
Where I am the creator
Where I am the sovereign body
Where I control

To sit beside them
My persons I have created
We chat over coffee
Or Jack to me it doesn’t matter
Truth comes in all forms
They tell me their story
I listen and carefully write each
Word down.
Good bye for another day

When I sit down to write
I am anyone I want to be
I am mean and nice
I am small and large
The legacy left on scrawled pages
Begging for an audience where
I struggle with my own desires
They suffer in the dust
They have a story , a thought, an idea
And they waste it with me
And I waste it with you.

I like these lines you’ve come up with, keep it up with them. Reminds me of the poems that I’m writing myself.
