Before I am Famous

literature is something we infer after the story is told

Proximity

Posted on | July 31, 2008 |

The haze that is the sun pushes us inside
The shorter days in autumn keeps us closed
the snow, wicked and whipping locks the door
succulent raindrops is only another reason to stay

Inside, in front of a screen where the world
brought to us in pages of pictures and blurbs
being whoever we want to be, creating a world
of our own making.
A culture of Solitude.

But the faithful blue sky
tugs at the memory violin
days of freedom on the road, locusts
in the trees, the two wheels whisper with the road
clouds become tigers and lions and
friendship came in a package shaped liked a person,
laughing the same tone, sharing the same fear.

It is then, where we still discover
that we still need someone
in proximity of breathing space.

Love the line ‘ friendship came in a package shaped like a person’.

The first stanza seems to be missing punctuation - is that deliberate?
