One More Time
I know it’s getting late
but can’t the sun wait?
for one more dive
one more splash,
one more lap?
As always I’m the first one in and the last to go.
With daydreams of who I’ll be many tomorrows from now
when submergence in water, inviting like sun filled days
for play
will be a long forgotten pleasure,
one that I will always long [...]
Illustration and Poem on Aging
Well isn’t this a dandy little picture to get your day strarted? This is another picture straight from my children’s book that I am writing. This particular poem is somewhere on my blog but I don’t know where here is what it says
Shiver me timbers
and crack me bones
I used to be limber
but now I need [...]
Bubbles on the Snow
Woke up this morn only to find fresh snow
Someone better tell mama nature for
she has messed things up.
Isn’t it Spring?
Doesn’t matter to me,
don my winter gear determined
to create my own spring
The sun is a spring sun,
bearing down on me, the snow
wet.
Slowly,
pouring the mix in the pan, and
grabbing my favorite wand.
A breezy tide draws the [...]
A Big Black Bear in a Pink Tutu the Illustration
Well here it is, like I said last night. This is an illustration that I drew myself for the children’s book. Don’t pee yourself laughing. I know I am no Rembrandt but I suppose it is not too bad. This is the poem that it goes with A Big Black Bear in a Pink Tutu. Believe [...]
Dear Phil
Dear Phil,
Please don’t dissappoint me
tell me spring is near
I’m tired of the cold.
Sure, I love snowy serenity
no school, hot cocoa and
lazy days in front of the fire
But, I long to be in the sun till late,
running barefoot
mud squish- squashing
between my toes.
Dear Phil,
Please don’t dissappoint me
tell me spring is near
I’m tired of the cold.

All children he loves the good and bad
Up the chimney he goes. Hand

Everything that is right in the world.

Purple
Purple is the sunset at the beach.
Purple is homegrown plums eaten right off the tree.
Purple is the perfume your mom wears.
Purple is the clickety-clack of the bike.
Purple is the warmth of love.
